Tablets after surgery: what to buy?

After a different kind of surgery, patients have pain (permanent or periodic) that require safe pain relief. Causes for the development of pain can be both increased sensitivity of the damaged area of soft tissues, and their edema.

As a rule, people relieve severe pain after surgery with tablets containing narcotic substances. Since these drugs can cause negative reactions or dependence in the body, they should be used only for the intended purpose and under the supervision of the doctor.

Self-administration of potent analgesics leads to side effects (increased sedation, nausea). Only the attending physician prescribes the necessary preparation, taking into account the characteristics of the patient’s body and the nature of surgical manipulations.

Effective analgesics

To ease the patient’s condition, relieve pain, prevent the development of the inflammatory process and restore its vital potential, help pills after the operation, of which the most common analgesic drugs with anti-inflammatory effect are:

Paracetamol is an analgesic with an accelerated action and a low probability of developing negative effects when applied. Depending on the degree of pain, combinations of drugs are prescribed – Solpadein, Sedalgin-Neo, Pentalgin. From safe drugs that do not contain narcotic substances, apply (with moderate pain): Ibuprofen, Citramon and Analgin.

Tramadol is an analgesic (opioid) synthetic, medium strength, which only in rare cases causes physical and mental dependence, and also has no adverse effect on intestinal motility and respiratory function, does not act depressingly on the blood circulation and psyche of the patient.

Zaldiar is a remedy created with a combination of tramadol with paracetamol, which has a strong and prolonged analgesic effect. If the necessary anesthesia does not occur, then an additional intake of other analgesics (for example, Diclofenac, Promedol) is prescribed.

The strong analgesic analgesics include tablets after surgery – Ketorolac, Naise, Nurofen. The most effective is Ketorolac, as well as Toradol. Ketorolac, having antipyretic effect, is not intended for the treatment of inflammatory diseases, but only for the removal of pain.

In the maxillofacial surgery, in addition to the listed drugs are also used: Ketonal, Migrenol, Trigan-D, Deksalgin 25, Next. If necessary, the doctor after the operation appoints anti-inflammatory drugs (mefenamic acid, Nimesil), and, for example, after complex tooth extraction, strong antibiotics – Sumamed, Amoxiclav, Ceftriaxone, together with desensitizing tablets (Suprastin, Coaritin, Tavegil, Loratadin, Erius).

Before the operation to remove the tooth should inform your doctor about what you are taking at this time drugs (anticoagulants, insulin, oral contraceptives), to facilitate his choice of the necessary anesthetic, as well as to choose the right medicines for postoperative care.

After the operation, for example, to remove the parathyroid tumor, it is recommended to take tablets with vitamin D and calcium, which strengthen the bone tissue.

Doctors do not recommend abusing the use of potent drugs, and apply them only if necessary, since it is possible to cause the opposite result by constant reception of their results (pain intensification). It is necessary to carefully study contraindications to the application, weighing all the pros and cons.
